Apprenticeship has emerged as a promising potential solution for states and school districts grappling with teacher shortages and the need to diversify the teaching profession. Newly launched programs such as Tennessee’s program and Iowa’s have generated a lot of enthusiasm, but just as many questions. In this webinar, ¹ú²úÊÓÆµ staff and leading apprenticeship practitioners will explore the growing momentum behind educator apprenticeships and highlight promising practices from established apprenticeship programs serving both adult and youth learners.
Objectives
- To explore the growing momentum behind educator apprenticeships.
- To highlight promising models for training educators via youth apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship (i.e. youth and adult-focused).
- To surface opportunities, challenges, and common misconceptions about apprenticeship as a talent strategy in the field of education.Â
- To establish ¹ú²úÊÓÆµâ€™s expertise on this topic, through both the Grow Your Own National Network and the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeship. Â
