On Tuesday, the ¹ú²úÊÓƵ Foundation is hosting an event on Representatives from the Obama administration, the student loan community, and ¹ú²úÊÓƵ’s Education Policy Program will discuss the pros and cons of to end the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) program and to instead make the loans directly.

¹ú²úÊÓƵ this event: On Feb. 26, the Obama administration laid out to expand financial aid, paid for in part by ending the FFEL program and instead contracting with companies to service loans through the federal Direct Loan Program. The proposal is controversial in the lending community, the higher education community, and on Capitol Hill. Tuesday’s event will provide a balanced look at the President’s plans.
