After two and a half exciting years, I’ve decided to step away from editing Higher Ed Watch and running the day-to-day operations of the ¹ú²úÊÓƵ Foundation’s Education Policy Program. I’m going to become a Fellow at ¹ú²úÊÓƵ so I can focus on my own research and writing full time.

MaryEllen McGuire, my long time colleague and friend and currently Senator Christopher J. Dodd’s chief education advisor, will take over as the Education Policy Program Director this September. It’s a hiring coup for ¹ú²úÊÓƵ. Sara Mead will run the program until MaryEllen begins.

As a Fellow at ¹ú²úÊÓƵ, I plan to continue working on higher education, K-12, and education budget issues. I’ll continue to offer advice and counsel to those seeking new ideas or perspective on education matters. You can still reach me at dannenberg@newamerica.net. I don’t expect Higher Ed Watch to miss a beat.
