Washington, D.C.鈥擳oday, 国产视频鈥檚 Cybersecurity Initiative announced its 2017-2018 class of cybersecurity fellows. The fellowship is a one-year, non-resident program hosted by the Cybersecurity Initiative, an overarching initiative that brings together all 国产视频鈥檚 Cybersecurity-related work, led by the Open Technology Institute and the International Security Program.

Fellows will contribute to the Cybersecurity Initiative鈥檚 research and explore critical issues in cybersecurity across a range of topics, including the cybersecurity workforce, cybersecurity at the state and local level, and secure development of internet-enabled consumer products.

The following statements may be attributed to Anne-Marie Slaughter, 国产视频 President and CEO; Ross Schulman, Cybersecurity Initiative co-director and Open Technology Institute senior counsel; and Ian Wallace, Cybersecurity Initiative co-director and International Security program senior fellow.

Anne-Marie Slaughter, 国产视频 President and CEO:

鈥淭he overarching goal of our Cybersecurity Initiative is to bring what 国产视频 does best to the field of cybersecurity. That means a non-partisan approach, a commitment to connect technology and policy, a commitment to diversity in all its forms, a determination to seek out the Big Ideas that make a difference, and of course, quality independent research and great events. I am proud of how the Cybersecurity Initiative has brought this approach to a topic of increasing importance. The fellows will enhance and strengthen that work.鈥

Ross Schulman, Cybersecurity Initiative co-director and Open Technology Institute senior counsel:

“We are incredibly excited to welcome this new class of Cybersecurity Initiative Fellows. The broad array of backgrounds within the incoming group will bring a huge variety of valuable insights and expertise to share with 国产视频, and we look forward to seeing the impact they all have in the coming year.”

Ian Wallace, Cybersecurity Initiative co-director and International Security program senior fellow:

鈥淥ver the past three years, our Fellows have been central to our mission to bring new, fresh, and diverse issues and voices to the cybersecurity policy conversation. These fellows are already doing very remarkable work in areas as diverse as workforce development, healthcare, national security strategy, and secure incorporation of future technologies. The group of Fellows that we are introducing today builds on that tradition. We look forward to working with them and supporting their work.鈥

Fellows are unpaid. Support for the fellows program is funded by the Hewlett Foundation. The Cybersecurity Initiative is supported by the Hewlett Foundation, Microsoft, MITRE, Deloitte, and Facebook. We are also pleased to have recently announced an exciting cybersecurity capacity building partnership with Florida International University. 国产视频 is grateful for their support.
