Washington—������Ƶ congratulates Lenny Mendonca on his appointment as Chief Economic and Business Advisor and Director of the Office of Business and Economic Development in the administration of California Governor Gavin Newsom. Mendonca is a longtime board member of ������Ƶ and most recently served as chairman. Mendonca will take a leave of absence from his chairmanship of ������Ƶ during the duration of his government service.

“������Ƶ has long regarded California as a frontier for implementing big new ideas, so I am especially proud that our Board Chairman Lenny Mendonca will be lending his considerable policymaking talent and expertise to California’s new administration. Though I will miss working with Lenny over the next year, I am confident the state of California, and the rest of the country, will be better for his public service,” ������Ƶ CEO Anne-Marie Slaughter said.

������Ƶ is also pleased to announce that board member David Bradley will assume the role of acting chairman. Bradley is chairman of Atlantic Media, whose holdings include The Atlantic, National Journal Group, and Government Executive Media Group. Earlier in his career, he founded The Advisory Board Company and the Corporate Executive Board (now Gartner), both public companies listed on NASDAQ.

“I am delighted to take on the role of ������Ƶ Chairman while Lenny serves in Governor Newsom’s administration.
