Even as Americans of all ages struggle to make ends meet in a period of stagnating wages and growing income inequality, it鈥檚 instructive to reflect on the especially perilous situation in which the younger generation of Americans finds itself. Unprecedented amounts of student loan debt, high rates of unemployment, and low wages are just some of the pressures on the balance sheets of Americans under age 40.
To raise awareness of these issues and to discuss policy solutions, the at the St. Louis Fed is organizing a research symposium on the topic. The organizers at the Fed, along with the symposium’s cosponsors at the at the Washington University in St. Louis, issued a call for papers on the topic of 鈥淩ealizing the American Dream for Younger Americans.鈥 can be found on the Fed鈥檚 website and in the official . Submissions are due by December 4th.
