鲍尘补谤听贵补谤辞辞辩聽is a fellow with the Future Security Program and聽an investigative journalist and foreign correspondent who has reported from across the Middle East and South and Central Asia.
He has worked as a correspondent for聽Reuters聽based in Pakistan, and for the聽Los Angeles Times听补苍诲听Al Jazeera English聽while based in Turkey. Later,听Farooq聽was a national reporting fellow for聽ProPublica聽based in the US, where he investigated police shootings, indigenous water rights, and loopholes in US weapons export rules. His work was recognized for awards, including by the Medill School of Journalism for Public Interest Magazine Journalism, and by the Indigenous Journalists Association for Best Feature Story.聽Farooq鈥檚 reporting has also appeared in the聽New York Times Magazine, the聽Christian Science Monitor, the聽Wall Street Journal,听Foreign Affairs,听Foreign Policy,听National Geographic, the聽Guardian, the聽Atlantic, the Nation, the聽Daily Beast, and other outlets. He has been a recipient of grants from the National Geographic Society and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.聽Farooq聽launched and helps to run the global investigative journalism podcast聽On Spec.
