Silvana was the聽Director for Strategic Partnerships in the Americas聽at聽ConsenSys, leading the global blockchain company's work with the LACChain alliance driven by the Inter-American Development Bank to build the blockchain infrastructure for Latin America.聽
Prior to that as a U.S. diplomat with the State Department from 2006 to 2018, Silvana聽most recently聽served as the Senior Partnerships Advisor in the Secretary鈥檚 Office of Global Partnerships, where she focused on public-private partnerships聽exploring blockchain use for international聽development.聽Her diplomatic career聽also聽included聽assignments at the U.S. Embassy in Colombia聽covering peace process issues and聽overseeing landmine removal programs, in Washington D.C.聽covering Russia's foreign policy and political-military affairs,聽at the U.S. Embassy in Madagascar working on political and human rights issues, and at the U.S. Embassy in聽Argentina.
Before joining the State Department, Silvana spent several years聽in聽consulting as an Associate at AALC (formerly Armitage Associates), where she assisted defense and energy clients with projects in East and Central Asia, Afghanistan, Eastern Europe, and the United States in聽identifying joint venture partners,聽developing聽market entry聽strategies,聽and mitigating political risk.聽聽
She holds a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and an M.A. in Public Policy from Princeton University.
Silvana was named one of The Huffington Post's 鈥40 Under 40: Latinos in Foreign Policy鈥 and has served on the Board of the Hispanic Employees Council of Foreign Affairs.聽She was also selected to serve on Project 2049 Institute delegations to Japan and Taiwan and on Women of Color in Blockchain Delegations to Congress.
